Integrative
Therapy is the culmination of 20 years experience of healing with
natural medicine. It combines
the best principles and techniques of chiropractics, acupuncture,
nutrition, herbology, neurological reeducation, and other aspects of
energetic medicine. All
body systems must work in conjunction and communication with each other to
function well. Integrative Therapy maximizes health and the healing
process through the four essentials; structural alignment, muscular
retraining, circulation stimulation and neurological rebalancing.

Major
Procedures Used By Dr. St. Clair
There
are five major procedures used to test, evaluate and ultimately help your
pet. All are non-invasive,
use no drugs and complement other treatments.
When you entrust your companion to us, one or more of these
therapies will be used on the road to recovery.
Physical
Evaluation and Review of Medical Records
Prior
to your pet’s appointment, we will contact your veterinarian to discuss
any particular conditions and ongoing treatments.
Beginning with medical history, your pet will be evaluated for
general health, structure, mobility, and challenges.
Through exacting techniques, Dr. St. Clair will determine where
optimal health and healing are being restricted.
The next step is to invoke the body systems to bring it back to
vibrant health. In
conjunction with your veterinarian, we will determine the best combination
of western medicine and natural therapy.
Structural
and Neuronal Adjusting
Neuronal
adjusting aligns the spine through regulation of neurological input into
specific vertebra. The gentle
nature of Dr. St. Clair’s adjusting technique is called Veterinary
Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM). It is completely non-invasive and
puts no twisting motion on the spine so there is no risk of
injury or damage to the spine or surrounding tissues.
Correct nerve transmission via the spine enhances health and proper
demeanor, often giving the advantage over others in competition.

VOM.
Myofascial
Release and Deep Tissue Relaxation
Often
the root cause of a chronic problem is a tight muscle affecting mobility
of the limbs and spine and reducing circulation and nutrition to vital
organs. Some spinal
adjustments are short-lived because tight muscles can quickly pull the
spine out of alignment again. By
performing veterinary myofascial release, a technique applying fast
pulses, muscle spasms are relaxed and adjustments last longer.
This relaxation creates more suppling and graceful, fluid movement.

Additionally,
many chronic problems arise from scar tissue and adhesions. These
adhesions then effect the movement of the muscles and bones that are
involved locally. Percussive therapy has been shown to break down
scar tissues and restructure it to form normal, healthy tissue. This
technique is often an essential component to creating permanent change in
longstanding chronic conditions.
Enhancing
Circulation
Ancient
acupuncturists developed and mapped the meridians, 12 basic zones along
which the body’s energy and circulatory system flows.
Influencing the various organs and muscles, these meridians run up
and down the entire body. Anytime
these paths are blocked, circulation and blood supply — the body’s
system of nutrition transport — are diminished leading to dull carriage,
pain or disease. Through the
use of traditional acupuncture or needleless acupuncture, Dr. St. Clair
activates the meridians to increase circulation, nutrition and healing in
the affected areas and related organ systems.
Enhanced circulation has the added benefit of increasing balanced
muscle development and evening muscle tone.
Neurological
Reeducation
The
latest medical research suggests that the body may not heal completely due
to faulty nerve communication continuing to send messages reinforcing a
diseased state. The final step in integrative therapy can correct this
message and support permanent lasting health giving your pet the extra
edge to optimal wellness.
